The DJI Goggles rental are an FPV headset designed to work with the DJI Mavic, DJI Inspire 2, and the DJI Phantom 4 Pro. The DJI Goggles feature two 5 inch screens, with 1080p resolution and a 85 degree field of view. These are the ultimate in FPV if you are serious about capturing excellent video from your drone.
The DJI Goggles feature both 720p at 60fps and 1080p at 30fps. Antennas are built into the headband which allows a full 360 degree of coverage to the connection of the drone, even if the drone is behind you. When flying in Head Tracking Flight mode, you can control the aircraft yaw and camera tilt with your head. If you turn left or right, the aircraft will yaw in the same direction. If you want to straighten out your flight, you just simply stop turning. In Head Tracking Gimbal mode, you will only control the gimbal without effecting yaw. One of the great features of the DJI Goggles FPV headset is the touch pad integration. You just simply tap the side of them to scroll through the menu that you see on the screen, much like touch pad on a laptop. With this feature you can control the settings for the drone that you are flying.
While the DJI Goggles seem like a great and easy thing to use, always remember to fly visual flight rules. If you want to see the aircraft and exactly where it is, you just simply flip up the monitor. The DJI Goggles are ideal for the camera operator who has a pilot flying the DJI Inspire 2. These allow you to see exactly what the camera is seeing, without any glare that you might experience on a mobile device. If you are an experienced pilot, you will have no issues with flying solo.
Overall the DJI Goggles are a great asset to have for the professional drone operator. If you are an amateur who is fairly new to flying a drone, we recommend flying the drone without them for a while to get used to it before using these. Once you do start to use the DJI Goggles, we recommend being in a very open area without any obstructions.
